Myofascial unwinding
”Unwinding” is a natural process in which your body releases fascial restrictions through movement.
—————————————————————————————————
Provides a greater opportunity to heal
Allows tissue memory and residual energy from trauma to release
Occurs when you “take your brakes off” and let movement happen naturally
All types of unwinding are beneficial: big or small, mild or intense, one region or the whole body. Your unwinding might have different motions each time: wiggle, twitch, jolt shake, move around, etc.
Your JFB-MFR therapist is trained to support you. An unwinding will not injure you and can be stopped at any time.
SO….WHAT’S GOING ON?
Injuries and traumas - both physically and emotional - can cause fascial restrictions, bracing patterns, and chronic and unexplained pain. your fascial system knows what it needs to heal, and you are encouraged to let your body move on its own. Give yourself permission to let go and feel any movement that comes up in your body.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
You actually don’t need to figure anything out or know why an unwinding is occurring. If you’re meant to know something from the experience, it will come to you.
